Ronda Rousey

UFC announced last night during the UFC 225 event in Chicago that the current WWE superstar and former Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will be inducted into the modern wing of the UFC Hall of Fame in July during the International Fight Week. The ceremony will take place at the UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas on July 5th.

Ronda Rousey made her debut as the first-ever UFC women’s bantamweight champion against Liz Carmouche at UFC 158 in 2013, defeating Carmouche. Ronda went on to defend the title on five occasions before losing the title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015.

Eventually, Ronda Rousey’s first loss became the end of her successful winning story in the UFC. She made her return after one year but still lost to Amanda Nunes at UFC 206 in December 2016. That lost marked Ronda Rousey journey in the world of MMA as she went on to sign with the WWE, and at WWE Money In The Bank PPV, she will be challenging Nia Jax for the WWE Raw’s Women Championship.

In her reaction to the announcement, Ronda Rousey said, “This is an immense honor, to not only take part in bringing women to the forefront of this sport but now the UFC Hall of Fame. May I be the first of many.”

WWE superstars have taken to the tweeter to express their happiness in support of the newest member of the UFC Hall of Fame Class;
