WWE SmackDown Live aired last night from Memphis, Tenn. The show opened with the SmackDown GM Paige hosting a Women’s Money in the Bank Summit.

Just five days away for the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, the SmackDown Superstars representing the blue brand in MITB: Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Lana, all came face-to-face as each of them hoped to be the woman to bring back the briefcase down to SmackDown Live.

The IIconics later interrupted the summit leading into an all-out brawl.

Daniel Bryan def. Shelton Benjamin

For the first time, Daniel Bryan squared off with Shelton Benjamin on WWE SmackDown Live, and after a very competitive bout, with Benjamin initially having an edge with Daniel’s knee, the Beard Man later battled back, returning the favour by targeting Benjamin’s knee also.

Bryan wore out both knees of Benjamin, and in the end, when Benjamin went for the Half Boston Crab, Bryan countered and executed the Heel Hook for the victory.

A segment between Jerry “The King” Lawler interviewing the WWE Champion AJ Styles followed next, with Styles promising to walk out of the MITB still the way he walked in, as WWE Champion, and as the last man standing.

Rusev def. Samoa Joe with The Miz as Special Guest Referee

This bout was action-packed, but after Joe accidentally collided with the guest referee, The Miz, Miz refused to count as Joe was nearing victory.

Samoa Joe, however, lost his concentration as he went turn his focus on The Miz, allowing Rusev to strike with the Machka Kick for the three counts.

Jeff Hardy def. Shinsuke Nakamura via Disqualification

Recall that there was a Tweeter verbal exchange this past weekend with United States Champion Jeff Hardy and Shinsuke Nakamura on Social Media, with Jeff claiming that AJ Styles would defeat Nakamura in the WWE Championship Last Man Standing Match this Sunday at WWE Money in the Bank.

This led to the bout between this two, but at the very high moments of the match, as Hardy went for a second Twist of Fate, Nakamura struck him with a devastating low blow to end the match, handing Hardy the victory via disqualification.

Asuka, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Lana & Charlotte Flair def. Carmella, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Peyton Royce & Billie Kay

In the main event of the WWE SmackDown Live last night, The IIconics, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, for the interference during the Women’s Summit earlier in the night, the WWE SmackDown Live GM Paige placed Asuka (as she had requested to get her hands on the SmackDown Live Women’s Champ, Carmella), Becky Lynch, Naomi, Charlotte Flair and Lana were given the opportunity to square off against Carmella, Rose, Deville, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay.

After a heated battle, Asuka was able to lock in the Asuka Lock on Carmella for the submission victory just a few days to their title showdown at WWE MITB PPV.
