Big Cass

WWE SmackDown Live returned last night from Corpus Christi, in Texas. The show was kicked off with the SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella attempting to “unmask” the real Asuka.

Carmella showed a video clip of Asuka’s WWE career, before alleging that Asuka was broken after her WrestleMania 34 loss to Charlotte Flair. According to Princess Mells, everyone is now ready for Asuka.

The Empress of Tomorrow eventually made her way to the ring, but before tensions could get physical, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville also interrupted, claiming that Mandy was very close from defeating Asuka last week and that Deville would seal the deal immediately if they squared off.

SmackDown LIVE General Manager Paige arrived and calmed the situation. She asked Asuka Asuka who she wanted to face between Mandy or Sonya, and Asuka demanded the both of them.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura signed their MITB contract

SmackDown Live GM Paige anchored the contract signing between WWE Champion AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura for their Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank.

Tensions eventually grew so high that AJ was so ready for physical contact after Nakamura flung a pen on him. AJ eventually lost it and slapped Nakamura across the face and that led to him being escorted out of the contract signing room. Nakamura then went on to sign the contract, with one statement afterward, “Last-Man-Standing.”

Becky Lynch def. Charlotte Flair

Former SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair battled her best friend Becky Lynch. The New Day def. The Miz, Samoa Joe & Rusev

In a Six-Man Tag Team Match, The New Day squared battled The Miz, Samoa Joe & Rusev for the main event. Miz, Joe, and Rusev got very close to winning the bout after Xavier Woods was taken out with the Coquina Clutch by Joe, and Rusev connected with the Machka Kick on Kofi.

Fortunately for The New Day, Miz mistakenly threw flapjacks at Joe and Rusev, and his supposed team members didn’t take that lightly as they beat him down, before leaving him all alone. The New Day then ended the contest after they connected with the Midnight Hour on Miz for the victory.
